What delivery and stacking add to a cord of firewood

A delivery fee is paid once per load, so on a small load it adds more per cord. A $50 delivery adds $50 per cord on a full cord, $100 on a half cord and $150 on a face cord of 16-inch logs.

The numbers above are an example. Replace them with your own.

All in, per full cord: (price + delivery + stacking) ÷ share of a cord. Quote A, a $170 half cord with $50 delivery, is ($170 + $50) ÷ 0.5 = $440 a cord. Quote B, a $330 cord with $40 delivery, is $370. B is $70 a cord cheaper, though A's wood alone is only $10 a cord more.

Stacking fees work the same way: enter them beside delivery.

Questions

Is delivery included in a firewood quote?

Some quotes include it and some do not. Ask, and enter the fee here so both quotes include it.

How do I count a distance or fuel charge?

Add it to the delivery fee.

Does a bigger load always cost less per cord?

Not always, but each fee is spread over more wood. Compare the quotes per full cord, all in.
